ROSE FLAVORED GUM

Rose flavored chewing gum ! What is so strange about this piece of gum ? Believe it or not, after chewing the gum for an hour, will make you smell like a rose.  As you sweat , your glands will release the scent from this gum. Does it work ? Not sure, after chewing the gum I went outside and did some yard work. An hour later I asked my grandma to sniff me and she said I smelled "different" . She stated that I did not smell like sweat at all, but some other kind of odor. She said it wasn't foul or anything, so I suppose it does work , not sure. The gum does not taste like a rose at all, its the same as American gum of mint / menthol flavor.

Every Burger

EVERY BURGER

Check out these miniature hamburgers. They are extremely small and they are the exact size of a quarter. They are too cute to eat . I thought eating these would taste like hamburgers but in fact they taste more like cookies. Sesame cookies to be exact. You can take out the buns and the cheese and eat them individually . Nothing too weird about this snack, not sure why make a hamburger and give it the flavor of something else. Either way these are popular in Japan among adults and kids :)

Japanese Square Watermelon

Watermelon in Japan usually cost between $15.00 to 25.00 dollars....however this one costs $199.00 . Why you may ask ? Because it's square and was imported all the way from Japan to Texas, crazy huh ? There is nothing different about the flavor, it tastes the same as any watermelon out there. There is a special reason as to why Japanese farmers grow them in square shapes and the answer is pretty simple "space".  Putting a square watermelon inside the frig reduces space , and you can put them in any of the levels in the frig, unlike the round shape you can only put them in the way bottom part. You can even stack other things on top of the square watermelon, pretty genius eh ? Square watermelons make awesome gifts to people , however you would have to LOVE them alot since prices for square watermelons range from $100.00 and up !

Tuna Mayonnaise Doritos

Who would of thought of combining Doritos with tuna and mayonnaise ? I have seen people eat a tuna sandwich and put Doritos in between the bread and crush it and eat it, so I suppose this was a good idea ? Absolutely not !! Once the bag was opened it reeked the smell of fish . However it really does taste like mayonnaise and in the back of the bag it suggests to dip the chips in mayonnaise and eat it like that . The mayonnaise was too much for me.

Sweet Potato - Kitkat

You will never see this flavor of Kitkat anywhere in the United States. Check out sweet potato Kit-Kat bars . Indeed this candy is really sweet. Upon opening the package, it smells exactly like Play-doh . The odor is a major turn off. When I took a bite, there was no flavor of sweet potato , well from what I could taste. There was a hint of white chocolate flavor here and there, that was about it.

Ramune Lychee

This drink is pretty good, its Ramune "lychee" flavored soda. What is lychee ? It's a fruit from Asia that smells and tastes like perfume. It's actually quite good. The first thing you will notice is the top of the bottle has a blue cap. It comes with a green button that you put on top of the blue cap and press down with the palm of your hand. When that happens, it pushes a marble that falls into the bottle , which you can see in the picture (lower left corner). The purpose of this marble is to prevent the liquid from spilling out on the sides and getting it on your face. Even if the bottle falls to the side the liquid won't spill out due to the marble blocking the top. Genius eh ? Lychee is a popular flavor in Japan, they put it in candy, icecream, drinks, etc.

Bilk

What happens when you combine milk and beer ? You get something called bilk. In Japan there was too much milk but not enough ways to use it and therefore the milk supply was being tossed and wasted. A Japanese man came up with the idea of putting milk into beer, which would solve the problem of excess milk. When i tasted this drink it was very very fruity . I can't really taste any milk in this beer. The label is very cool and cartoonish , its kind of cute :)

Reishi Tea

This next item is truely a bizarre beverage. I present to you .....Reishi . What is Reishi ? It's a mushroom that grows in parts of Japan and China. When dried , it becomes extremely hard, however upon boiled it becomes soft and rubbery. It resembles pieces of tree bark. To extract the Reishi you have to boil it on low heat for 8 hours. This mushroom is considered to be a "cure" for all types of ailments. Research and studies have proven its effectiveness, everything from bladder problems, kidney stones, diabetes, types of cancer, and it has been proven to boost up your immune system. I got some fresh Reishi and I followed the instructions and my first drink was the most nastiest thing I have ever tried. It tastes very "earthy" . It reminds me of drinking black coffee with no sugar added , but very strong and bitter . You should of seen all the weird faces I made. Who would of though you could make tea from a mushroom. I have to drink this for 2 weeks , everyday in order to see results from this mushroom. I will let you know for sure if it works, that is if I can stand the UGLY bitter flavor........YUCK !

Pepsi Shiso

What is Shiso ? It is a herb related to mint and very popular in Japan. However, Shiso smells exactly like Pine-sol , no joke ! Upon opening the Pepsi Shiso, the aroma of Pine-sol is very strong and is perfume-like. When I tasted it, there was no sign of any Pepsi in it. The Shiso flavor is over powering. I can tolerate the taste, I mean it is okay , I rather smell the bottle instead :) You can even use it to clean your toliets and floors, lol.

 SHRIMP FLAVORED CHIPS

It was bound to happen ! Combining sea food with potato chips ? It's true , now you can taste your very own shrimp flavored potato chips. The neat thing about this snack is that they resemble french fries. They even have the patterns on them like the ones you buy in a package at the super market. Once you open the bag the stench of dried shrimp is really strong, it smells like someone's penis when you pull back the foreskin and they haven't washed down there in days.....seriously it does, lol . What about the taste ? Well it tastes exactly like dried shrimp, so if you love this crustacean then this snack is for you :)

Cosmos Chocolate Corns

This product has both Korean and Japanese written on the bag , so it could be from Korea and was imported to Japan ? Either way I believe corn and chocolate are a strange combination. How would you feel about dipping a corn on the cob in chocolate and then eating it ? Upon opening the bag and taking them out I was shocked with the texture. It resembles dog turd !! This snack is perfect for playing a trick on someone , because it really does look like dog doo doo, lol. I smelled to see what it was like and all I could smell was chocolate. Once I took a bite, the first thing that came to my mind was Cheeto's Cheese Puffs !  However instead of tasting "cheese" all I tasted was chocolate. There was no hint of corn at all in this snack .

Suntory Dakara

After being outside in the hot sun i tried some of this Japanese bottled water called "Dakara" made from the company Suntory. All I can say is "bleh". It tastes like 7-UP that has gone flat . The logo says "Life Partner" so I looked in the back and it says it's the drink of choice for the openly gay community, LMAO !!  I won't be drinking this bland water anymore since I threw it down the sink.  Sayonara !

Muscat Candy

What is muscat ? A type of feces ? Some kind of rodent ? Muscat is actually a grape that is mainly used in wines and to make raisins. It tastes different and in my opinion way better than any grape out there. When you open the package, each grape is individually wrapped. When taken out its almost flat , like they squished the grape. It has a sweet and sour taste , extremely delicious. There is nothing really weird about this snack . Japan is the only country that uses muscat in teas , candy, gum, and in many other products. When you dine at a restaurant you can ask for muscat tea or soda and they will always have it.

Tentacle Grape

Upon reading "Tentacle Grape" the first thing you would imagine is octopus flavored ....but you are so wrong :) The image on the soda displays a high school anime girl being attacked by tentacles. If you watch hentai (Japanese cartoon porn) you would understand the image on the soft drink. Most hentai cartoons have some kind of monster raping a girl with tentacles. Since Japan does not allow penises to be shown on TV , it was easily replaced by an octopus tentacle. Grape rhymes with "rape" so that is how this unique product got it's name. It tastes really good and almost like Welch's grape juice, however the neat part about this product is that it comes with a free condom ! How cool is that ? It smells and tastes like the soda as well :)
